Exemptions from the London Port or Dock Duties. Any Ship or Vessel coming to or going Coastwise from the Port of London, or to any part of Great Britain, unless such Ship or Ves. sel shall exceed forty-five tons burthen. Any Vessel bringing Corn Coastwise, the principal part of whose cargo shall consist of Corn.* Any Fishing Smacks, Lobster, and Oyster Boats; or Vessels for Pas sengers. Any Vessel or Vessels, or Craft navigating the River Thames above and below London Bridge, as far as Gravesend only. And Any Ship or Vessel entering inwards or outwards in ballast. * Vessels BRINGING FLOUR AND MALT.-The following decisions have taken place, as regards vessels being wholly or nearly laden with those articles, viz. :-Any vessel whose cargo shall consist only of Flour and Malt.-— Treas. Order, 30 March, 1818. Any Vessel whose Cargo shall principally consist of Corn and Flour.-Min. Com. Cus. 15 Dec. 1828 ; and by Min. Com. Cus., 6 Jan. 1831, the dock duty paid on four Vessels nearly laden with Flour from Liverpool, was remitted. The foregoing duties were imposed for the purpose of defraying the charges of certain improvements in the Port of London, for the greater convenience of Trade and Shipping, and for raising a fund for future contingent expenses.
