BERMUDA TRAVEL INFORMATION OFFICE The office is maintained by the Department of Tourism and Trade Development; the Department of the Bermuda Government responsible for the development of trade, and particularly the tourist trade. The Department which also maintains information offices in the United States and Canada, first established an office in London in 1925. The purpose of the office is to assist the development of the tourist trade and to provide intending visitors and travel agents with information and literature about Bermuda. Information is also available on the activities of the Industrial Development Council which has been set up to develop the Freeport Area and encourage light industries.
