Under a certificate scheme effective from 6th May 1968 the Central Bank of Ceylon will buy sterling at Rs. 19-20 to the £, compared with the official rate of Rs. 14.28.

(a) The East Caribbean Dollar is also used in Antigua, Dominica, Montserrat, St Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla, St Lucia and St Vincent.

(b) The Jamaican Pound is also used in the Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

(c) The Trinidad and Tobago Dollar is also used in Grenada.

In the Western Pacific High Commission, comprising the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, the British Solomon Islands and the New Hebrides, Australian decimal currency is used throughout. In the latter, the New Hebrides franc, 100 of which equal one Australian Dollar, is also used.
