The courses of study here announced are most of them identical with courses which are now offered or have been offered in previous years in Harvard College, and all are of the same grade with those given in the College. Four full courses will be regarded as a full year's work; but students who purpose to pursue a course of study similar to that for which the degree of Bachelor of Arts is given in Harvard College must in the first year take English 1, and either German I or French 1, besides three other full courses, which must be chosen from those offered in the departments of Greek, Latin, German, Italian, Spanish, French, History, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Natural History: and in addition to the prescribed work (see English 2, and 3, on page 9) must in the second, third, and fourth years take four elective courses. Courses marked with brackets are not given this year. The Executive Committee reserve the right to withdraw any course not called for by at least three competent persons.
