Great overview, not too heavy, and fed to you in short chapters on widely varying topics. It includes some problems and projects to further investigate at the end of each chapter. Great for teachers. William Berlnghoff received his Ph.D in mathematics from Wesleyan University. He is a visiting professor of mathematics at Colby College. He is the author or co-author of several college texts for liberal arts mathematics.

Fernando Gouves received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University. He is currently a professor of mathematics at Colby College.
