*The vote was for McKinley and Hobart electors, Bryan and Sewall electors, Bryan and Watson electors, Palmer and Buckner electors and Levering and Johnson electors. Three state tickets were voted-headed respectively by Charles A. Culberson, Dem., Jerome C. Kearby, Pop.-Rep., and Randolph Clark, Pro.. for governor. Fusion was not generally regarded by the populists and republicans, many thousand colored voters supporting Culberson on account of dissatisfaction with the school provision in the platform of the populists who nominated Kearby. Two republican electoral tickets were voted-the "regular" and the "lily white." OTHER STATE OFFICERS ELECTED, 1896 Associate Justice Supreme Court-Leroy G. Judge Court of Criminal Appeals-W. L.
