MEMORIAL TO THE POST MASTER GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES. Your memorialists, the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah, beg leave to suggest to your Honor, that post offices are established, and being multiplied throughout our Territory, making Great Salt Lake City post office, central to the various post routes; and, Whereas, the post master of this city of necessity performs most of the duties imposed on a distributing post office; and, Whereas, many offices established in this Territory are rendered useless for lack of mail routes; and, Whereas, it is highly important that a mail agent should be appointed for this Territory. Your memorialists, would therefore pray your Honor to appoint a mail agent for this Territory, who shall be authorized to let contracts on the several routes in this Territory; and that you appoint Great Salt Lake City post office a distributing post office.
