Stran 64 - THE WIDOW JOANNA HOAR SCHOLARSHIP The College established the Widow Joanna Hoar Scholarship with funds contributed by an unknown friend in memory of the widow of Charles Hoar, Sheriff of Gloucester in England, who came to America with her children in 1638. In awarding this scholarship preference is to be given to natives of Concord, Massachusetts, or to daughters of citizens of that place.
