Stran 366 - The General Assembly shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; nor shall any person be compelled to attend any place of worship, pay tithes, taxes, or other rates for building or repairing places of worship, or the maintenance of any minister, or ministry.
Stran 371 - The powers of the Government of the State of California shall be divided into three separate departments — the legislative, executive, and judicial ; and no person charged with the exercise of powers properly belonging to one of these departments shall exercise any functions appertaining to either of the others, except as in this Constitution expressly directed or permitted.

Stran 373 - When vacancies occur in either House, the Governor, or the person exercising the functions of the Governor, shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies. SEC. 13. The doors of each House shall be open, except on such occasions as, in the opinion of the House, may require secrecy.
Stran 374 - ... shall be liable to impeachment ;for any misdemeanor in office; but judgment in such cases shall •extend only to removal from office, and disqualification to hold any office of honor, trust, or profit, under the State; but the party convicted or acquitted shall, nevertheless, be liable to indictment, trial, and punishment, according to law.
Stran 376 - Every act shall embrace but one subject, and matters properly connected therewith, which subject shall be expressed in the title.
Stran 367 - The General Assembly shall not grant to any citizen, or class of citizens, privileges or immunities, which, upon the same terms, shall not equally belong to all citizens.
Stran 367 - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable seizures and searches, shall not be violated; and no warrant shall issue but on probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons and things to be seized.
Stran 386 - The credit of the State shall not, in any manner, be given or loaned to, or in aid of, any individual, association or corporation.
