Establishing the Jurisdiction of the Charity Com-
missioners in certain Cases.

HEREAS by many Private or other Acts of Parliament, Preamble. and Decrees or Orders relating to particular Charities, it

is or may be provided that various Objects connected with the Administration or Management of such Charities or the Proper5 ties thereof shall or may be effected under the Direction or Sanction of the High Court of Chancery, which Objects, in the Absence of Provisions, might be beneficially and effectually accomplished the Acts relating to the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales, by means of Orders, to be obtained upon summary 10 Applications to the said Commissioners, and without the Intervention of the said Court; but it has been considered that in some of such Cases the Jurisdiction of the said Commissioners for such Purposes is excluded, and that in others of such Cases the Sufficiency of such Jurisdiction for such Purposes is open to legal Doubt: Be it therefore 15 enacted and declared by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, as follows:
