This office has been notified of defective desks received by the General Services Administration Supply Depot, Stockton, California which was supplied on contract GS-00S-23813.

The defective desks are FSN 7110-143-0866, 83 each, received on purchase orders SW-04495-1 and SW-05196-1.

The desks were received with the following defects: drawers do not
operate properly, sticks, mis-aligned; plastic tops badly fitted, gaps
between top and base, chrome molding does not fit properly, excessive
glue or other stains, paint runs, chipped paint, scratches, panels and
front corner dented, sharp edge along bottom edge of top in front,
kickout spring on sliding shelf off or broken, shelf will not slide
out, desk loose from skid, and plate completely off.

Please notify this office when a replacement shipment for the above
material will be available for inspection or when you will send a
repair crew to the Stockton Depot for rework. In addition, provide dis-
position instructions for the defective units located at the General
Services Administration Supply Depot, Stockton, California if rework
will not be accomplished. Please refer to control number 9QC-192-75 when
replying to this letter.

With reference to the subject matter, from the contents of your letter it appears this desk was damaged in transit.

This desk was dropped on its corner causing the misalignment of pedestal. This condition will cause the drawers not to operate properly and will prevent proper locking action. The shock of the desk hitting the floor on its corner will loosen the top screws causing the top to be loosely secured to the frame.

This office has been notified of a defective Desk received by the
General Services Administration Supply Depot, Stockton, California
which was supplied on contract GS-005-28388.

The defective desk is FSN 7110-143-0838, received on purchase order
SW-714569. The desk was received with the following defects: top
not secured to frame, typewriter door not properly aligned, drawers do
not close properly and will not lock.

Please notify this office when a replacement shipment for the above
desk will be available for inspection. In addition, provide disposi-
tion instructions for the defective unit located at the General Services
Administration Supply Depot, Stockton, California.

Please reply within five days from the date of receipt of this notifi-
cation. Please refer to control number 9QC-168-75 when replying to
this letter.

As requested in my letter of January 27, 1975 please provide this office with a firm date for repairs to the 28 defective desks, FSN 7110443-0832 at our Shelby, Ohio Supply Facility..

Please refer to complaint number A-113149 when replying to this letter.

I have been advised that there are 28 defective desks, FSN 7110-143-0832, at the Shelly, Ohio Supply Facility that have not been repaired, despite the fact that this complaint was brought to your attention via my letter dated April 9, 1974.

On May 16, 1974, you advised this office that a repair team would be dispatched within 180 days to correct the situation.

Please furnish this office a firm date as to when repairs will be started and refer to control number A-113149 when replying to this letter.
