He assisted in compiling the data for the first directory; he was delegate from his chapter to the New Orleans convention; was Grand Western Praetor for three terms; and has served nine years as Supreme SecretaryTreasurer. He took over the treasury with a deficit and turns the office back to the fraternity with a balance of approximately $5,000.00. In the office of Supreme Archon the fraternity has bestowed upon him the highest honor in its power and no one has ever been more richly deserving of this honor than Dave Long. Would we had a thousand like him!

DR. ALBERT CLIFFORD HIRSHFIELD, Alpha Lambda

Grand Southern Praetor

Perhaps no one in the Southwest has done as much to forward the interests of Phi Beta Pi as has Dr. Albert Hirshfield, and it is with a good deal of pleasure and satisfaction that the fraternity welcomes his election for a second time as Grand Southern Praetor.

Dr. Hirshfield is a versatile man as his experience can well testify. Besides his college and medical degree it is rumored that he once was the recipient of a D.D.S. which permits him to do oral plumbing should the emergency arise. We were instructed confidentially though to leave this page of his record unturned so we hasten on.

Dr. Hirshfield graduated from the University of Indiana receiving the degrees of B.Sc. and M.D. After graduation he served interneships in the Methodist Episcopal Hospital of Indianapolis and the New York Lying-in Hospital of New York City. During the late unpleasantness with Mexico he served with the Oklahoma Field Hospital on the Mexican Border and at our last writing had received his commission in the Medical Reserve Corps and was awaiting orders to report for active duty.

Dr. Hirshfield has always been active in Phi Beta Pi. He organized the group at the University of Oklahoma which now is Alpha Lambda Chapter. He was
