CROSS-REFERENCE TABLES TO PROVISIONS

OF THE LEGISLATIVE REORGANIZATION ACTS OF 1946 AND 1970 AND THE CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET AND IMPOUNDMENT CONTROL ACT OF 1974 RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF THE SENATE

Many provisions of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (Public Law 601, 79th Congress, August 2, 1946, 60 Stat. 812), as amended by the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1970 (Public Law 91-510, October 26, 1970, 84 Stat. 1140), and as otherwise amended, and certain other provisions of the 1970 Act and of the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-344, 88 Stat. 297, July 12, 1974) relate directly to the organization and internal operation of the United States Senate, and in effect constitute extensions of or additions to the Standing Rules themselves. Those provisions, as is the case with all other pertinent provisions of law, are carried in the Senate Manual in their appropriately codified form under the heading "General and Permanent Laws Relating to the United States Senate" (Extracts from the United States Code). The following cross-reference tables show their respective United States Code citations and indicate by Senate Manual section numbers their location in this volume.
