REFERENCE AND TOPICAL

READING

This is a new and up-to-date work and different fro anything ever published in this or any other country. It e tends to all countries and subjects and brings history dov into the current century. Furthermore it contains just th information concerning events of history that one desires know, and which cannot otherwise be obtained without r ferring to over seven thousand different books; a it is told in the exact words of those historians whose wri ings have by common consent been accorded the highe place. It is therefore authoritative history of which proo are given.

By its system of reference, cross reference, and non-rep tition the compiler is enabled to place in six volumes wh would otherwise require a score, while the Inter Relations History are shown as never before attempted.

Besides the seven thousand volumes above mentione there are throughout the work specific references upon ir portant topics to five thousand other volumes, and instead history by one man, re-making it from other historians, it a history taken verbatim from the best historians.

We have made, and with increasing confidence still mal this unparalleled statement that it will answer more que tions in History more authoritatively and with greater exce lence in literary expression and with a greater economy time than any other ten of the largest and most compr hensive encyclopedic works in the world.
