(2) In the case of a translation made in regard to a Company whose place of business is established in Ireland by

(1) a Notary Public in Ireland, or

(2) a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in Ireland. (3) In the case of a translation made in regard to a Company whose place of business is established in Scotland, by

(1) a Notary Public in Scotland,

(2) an Enrolled Law Agent.

4. The Board of Trade may in any particular case, if they think fit to do so and upon such conditions as they think fit, permit certified copies or translations, though not certified in accordance with the above requirements, to be filed with the Registrar.

The Regulations made by the Board of Trade dated the 29th day of March, 1909, (a) are hereby revoked but without prejudice. to the validity of any act done thereunder.

THE CONSULAR FEES (AMENDMENT) ORDER IN COUNCIL, 1919.

PRESENT,

The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas by "The Consular Salaries and Fees Act, 1891,"(b) His Majesty the King is authorized, by Order in Council, to fix the fees to be taken in respect of any matter or thing done by a Consular Officer in the execution of his office, and to vary such fees by way of increase or decrease, and to abolish fees, and to create new fees:

And whereas it is expedient that the tables of fees, as now fixed by "The Consular Fees (General) Order in Council, 1906,"(c) "The China (Consular and Marriage Fees) Order in Council, 1906,"(d) and" The Japan (Consular and Marriage Fees) Order in Council, 1906,"(e) should in certain respects be amended:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the before-mentioned Act, His Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of his Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows

1. This Order may be cited as "The Consular Fees (Amendment) Order in Council, 1919."

2. The following fee is hereby established, and shall be deemed to be substituted for Fee No. 75 in Part II of the Table of Fees annexed respectively to "The Consular Fees (General) Order in Council," "The China (Consular and Marriage Fees) Order in Council, 1906," and "The Japan (Consular and Marriage Fees) Order in Council, 1906":

"75. Visa of a passport valid for a single journey, five shillings (5s.).

Ditto, valid for more than a single journey, one pound (£1)."

3. In all copies of the Orders in Council referred to in the preceding articles which may be printed after the commencement of this Order, the fee directed by this Order to be varied in the tables of fees annexed to the said Orders shall be thus varied.

And the Right Honourable Arthur James Balfour, O.M., one of His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, is to give the necessary directions herein.

Whereas His Majesty, by virtue of the authority conferred on Him by the Copyright Act, 1911, and having regard to the provisions of the revised Berne Copyright Convention of 1908, was pleased to make an Order in Council, dated the 24th day of

(a) FURTHER ORDER.-Whilst this Volume was in the press an Order (S.R. & O., 1920, No. 257) was issued regulating Copyright relations with the United States of America as regards works First Published between Aug. 1, 1914, and the Termination of the War.

June, 1912, (a) (hereinafter called the Principal Order) extending the protection of the said Act to certain classes of works to which protection is guaranteed by the said Convention :

And whereas the Kingdom of Sweden has ratified the said Convention subject to the reservation mentioned in the Schedule attached to this Order:

Now, therefore, His Majesty, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, and by virtue of the authority conferred upon Him by the Copyright Act, 1911, is pleased to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

(1) The provisions of Article (2), Proviso (i), Article (2),
Proviso (iii) (c), Article (2), Proviso (iii) (d), and
Article (2), Proviso (iii) (e) of the Principal Order
are hereby revoked so far as they relate to works of
which the country of origin is Sweden, and the
authors of all such works shall enjoy the same rights
as if the said provisions had never related thereto.
(2) In the application of the provisions of Article (3) of the
Principal Order to works of which the country of
origin is Sweden, the commencement of this Order
shall be substituted for the commencement of the Act
and for the commencement of the Principal Order.
(3) In the application to works of which the country of
origin is Sweden of Sections 1 (2) (d) and 19 of the
Copyright Act, 1911, the commencement of this Order
shall be substituted for the commencement of the Act
and for the passing of the Act in Sections 19 (7) and
19 (8) wherever those expressions occur.

(4) Where any person has, before the commencement of this
Order, taken any action whereby he has incurred any
expenditure or liability in connection with the repro-
duction or performance of any work in a
which at the time was lawful, or for the purpose of
or with a view to the reproduction or performance of
a work at a time when such reproduction or perform-
ance would, but for the making of this Order, have
been lawful, nothing in this Order shall diminish
or prejudice any rights or interest arising from,
or in connection with, such action which are subsist-
ing or valuable at the said date unless the person
who, by virtue of this Order, becomes entitled to
restrain such reproduction or performance agrees to
pay such compensation as failing agreement, may be
determined in accordance with the provisions of the
Copyright Act, 1911.

(5) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day
of January, 1920, which date is in this Order referred
to as the commencement of the Order.

And the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury are to give the necessary orders accordingly.
