Although a large work of nearly 600 the book, to print it entire, and to bind the octavo pages, it was necessary to set a part of whole edition in less than a week from the arrival of the final copy, in order that simultaneous publication might be secured. They have also just issued one of their most attractive, if not one of their most important, books, in W. J. Holland's "The Butterfly Book." Dr. Holland, a well-known entomologist, who is also the owner of the largest and finest private collection of butterflies in the United States, has been for years at work in preparing the text describing for the lay reader the life and habits of American butterflies, and giving instructions how they may be identified and studied. The illustrations are unique, as they show hundreds of specimens in color, photographed from the butterflies themselves.
