COURSES OF INSTRUCTION The University reserves the right to withdraw any course in which the initial enrollment may be deemed to be insufficient. As a rule, an enrollment of less than four will be regarded as insufficient; in the Department of Agriculture an enrollment of less than eight, in any course, may lead to its withdrawal. The University also reserves the right at any time to restrict attendance and enrollment in any course if for any reason such restriction becomes necessary. AGRICULTURE 1. AT BERKELEY 1. Individual Study of Selected Topics in Agricultural Education The Summer Session courses at the University Farm, Davis, are designed to prepare teachers and prospective teachers of vocational agriculture in California high schools to meet the special requirements of the State Board of Education. The courses should also be helpful to teachers and supervisors of agriculture working under the provisions of the Smith-Hughes Act in other states. Special opportunities are offered graduate students in Agricultural Education, through the Summer Session courses at Berkeley and Davis, for meeting the University of California requirements for the Master's degree. See the special announcements relative to graduate work. FEES AND DEPOSITS The regular Summer Session fee of twenty dollars ($20) payable to the agent of the University Comptroller at the University Farm at the time of registration will be charged each student regardless of the number of courses undertaken. Special Summer Session scholarships, equivalent in value to the Summer Session fee and accepted by the University Comptroller in lieu thereof, will be granted to properly qualified teachers of vocational agriculture in California high schools and to prospective teachers of the same by the California State Board of Education. Application for such scholarships should be made to Mr. J. B. Lillard, State Supervisor of Agricultural Instruction, State Department of Education, Sacramento, California. ACCOMMODATIONS AND EXPENSES Single rooms may be secured in the dormitories at the University Farm for $6 to $7 per month without bedding and linen. With bedding and linen, the charges range from $8 to $9 per month. Double rooms without bedding and linen range from $5 to $6 per month and with bedding and linen from $7 to $8. Room rent is payable in advance. The dining room, which is run on the cafeteria plan, will be kept open during the summer session. Meal tickets of a value of $5.20 each are sold for $5 each. It is desirable that Summer Session students at Davis, so far as possible, secure both room and board in the University Farm dormitories. A breakage deposit of five dollars ($5) is required of all students. After deducting for any breakage or loss, the remainder, if any, will be refunded at the end of the term. 150. Farm Crops (3). CONDIT ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE CALIFORNIA VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTORS OF AGRICULTURE The annual conference of the California vocational instructors of agriculture will be held at the University Farm, Davis, August 11 to 16, 1919. The conference has been called by the State Supervisor of Agricultural Education, who has formulated a programme for the special benefit of the Smith Hughes Agricultural teachers of the state. Every high school teacher of agriculture, high school principal, or State Supervisor of Agricultural Education in this and other states is cordially invited to attend. The accommodations at the University Farm are such that all who come will be taken care of and the living expenses will be very moderate.
