Sunday evening, General Public Session.

Programs of vital interest to all concerned are being prepared.

Special Bee-Hive sessions will also be held at which topics and demonstrations helpful to Bee-Keepers will be presented. Detailed information will be announced later.

CLASS WORK

It is desired that the class work for the month of May shall be of the usual high standard. The last three lessons for the

Advanced Senior class appear in the April Journal; those for the Senior classes (joint), "Seven Gospel Fundamentals" were published in the March Journal. For the Intermediate classes, it is suggested that if the optional course in Nature work has not yet been considered and if the other work is completed, the month of May could be profitably spent in consideration of this topic. Any real lover of nature with even moderate information can become a real leader of the group in this subject.

BEE-HIVE GIRLS

Swarms are supposed to meet weekly throughout the summer. According to the plan agreed upon at the Bee-Keepers' In

stitute in June, 1921, the girls are to make their three ranks in two years. This will necessitate their continuing active work during the summer. (See M. I. A. Notes in April Journal and Bee-Hive Handbook for 1921, pages 48 and 49.)

The rank which they have earned dur ing the winter season should be conferred in the ward on or near May 31, unless it is the rank of Keeper of the Bees which is conferred at a stake gathering. Providing the stake board are willing to have a Day of the Swarm at that time, it is well to do so; otherwise let the Bee-Keeper check up the work and award the rank in September on the Day of the Swarm planned to be held with the Boy Scouts.

The lessons to be taken for each course were printed in the Journal from SeptemLer, 1921 to April, 1922. These Journals should be preserved and the lessons taken up as far as possible during the summer season. In case you lack any number of the Journal, send at once for it (10c). If for any reason it is impossible to take up these lessons during the summer, let the swarm start on them as soon as possible so the rank may be completed by the end of January, 1923. Endeavor to make the work include the doing of things rather than the talking about them. Make it as different as you can from the winter's work, letting the girls and Bee-Keepers all have a change, which is as good as rest. Watch the M. I. A. Notes and the BeeHive Department in your Young Woman's Journal each month. Encourage the study of nature and with it all "Feel Joy."

SUMMER WORK

The programs of summer activities for the season of 1922 have been forwarded to all stakes in the Church for distribution to wards. Each year our summer work is becoming more successful. It is hoped that officers and members will unite in an enthusiastic endeavor to make the summer activities so attractive and beneficial that they will hold the entire membership of our associations.

Do we show sufficient appreciation of our Bishops?

Not long since a prominent woman in the Church stated that she had always made it a point to train her boys to take off their hats to the Bishop of the ward wherever they might meet him. Figuratively speaking, should we not all "take off our hats" to the men who have been placed at the head of our ward? The ties which bind the Latter-day Saints who live in close proximity, who are neighbors socially and who meet week after week, sometimes through many years, for the mingling of spiritual interests are, or should be, very close. They are all indeed brothers and sisters of one large family with the Bishopric at the head.

Do we think often enough of how untiring are these servants of the Lord in their administrations among the people? Let distress in any form enter the home and they are on hand; day and night with few exceptions, they are ready to answer the call for help. Not at long intervals, but of

ten day after day in succession, the demands on their time occur. They watch with loving interest the little children, they have an ever anxious regard for the welfare of the youth, and the aged and the poor are their especial concern.

Few of us stop long enough to consider, much less to realize, how many ecclesiastical duties are theirs. They are directly or indirectly responsible for the general spiritual and physical welfare and progress of all the people, for the success of all meetings and other gatherings held in the ward, for all records and reports. Not one only but all of the priesthood quorums and auxiliary organizations come under their general supervision. There are frequently many financial problems which they have to carry. And in addition they are expected to have always a fund of advice or instruction to give to those who seek it.

Truly the office of bishop is one of vast importance in the Church and the least the members can do is to be appreciative. Show your love
