Praying Does Help The incident related in our March issue, under this title, is a story of simple faith exercised by men who were untrained in the practice of pray ing but who, in the face of extreme peril, turned instinctively to the great Source of help. Their prayers were answered and they were guided to safety. Doubtless each of our readers could relate similar experiences of help and protection received in time of physical danger. But physical dangers are no more real than those which often bese: the spirit. Evil, as well as good, is every where present. It confronts us in . the weaknesses of our own human nature and in the alluring temptations which are on every hand. In the struggle for supremacy one's own strength is aften inadequate and divine assistance is necessary. To our young people, particularly, we commend the thought that "praying does help" in hours of temptation. The summer time with its charm and relaxation is upon us once more, Enjoy the pleasures that it brings but remember that Satan is ever active in his attempt to blight and destroy; he never takes a holiday. Fortify your own strength each day by earnest prayer. Avoid evil, seek the companionship of the good, and let the power of prayer accompany you in your vacation pastimes. Ask the Lord to help you see and realize danger and to guide you away from it as he guided the men in the boat. Only One Mother By Joseph E. FORGET THE IFS IF is a little word that has proved a tremendous stumbling block to thousands of young people. They could secure desirable positions if they had the training.
