Stran 7 - And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying. And what shall we do? And he said unto them. Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Stran 248 - For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world ; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Stran 295 - I know nothing that could, in this view, be said better, than " do unto others as ye would that others should do unto you...
Stran 177 - MASTERS, give unto your servants that which is just and equal ; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
Stran 95 - And darkness and doubt are now flying away, No longer I roam in conjecture forlorn. So breaks on the traveller, faint, and astray, The bright and the balmy effulgence of morn. See Truth, Love, and Mercy, in triumph descending, And nature all glowing in Eden's first bloom! On the cold cheek of Death smiles and roses are blending, And Beauty immortal awakes from the tomb.
Stran 248 - Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers ; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Stran 271 - Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate, than that these people are to be free; nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government.
Stran 248 - For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
Stran 248 - Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things ; not answering again ; 10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity ; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
Stran 206 - For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
