It is false economy to keep repairing your old macadam roads when by using the old macadam, the usefulness of which as a road for travel has passed, as a foundation for the Bitulithic pavement you save the expense of laying a new concrete foundation and stop the large maintenance cost you now expend yearly.

It is cheaper to have a good substantial bituminous surface in the beginning than to have cheap, inferior construction which has to be repaired within a year or two after it is laid.
