Stran 297 - Washington within six months from the date hereof, or earlier if possible. In faith whereof, we, the respective Plenipotentiaries, have signed this treaty and have hereunto affixed our seals. Done in duplicate at Paris, the tenth day of December, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
Stran 295 - It is, however, agreed that this concession does not extend to the coasting trade, granted only to the national vessels in the territory of each of the contracting parties. But, if one of them should permit it wholly or in part to any nation or nations, the other party shall have the right to claim the same concessions or favors for its citizens or subjects, provided said contracting party is willing, on its part, to grant reciprocity in all its claims on this point.

Stran 293 - No obstacle shall be placed in the way of travelers engaging men, vehicles or vessels for the transportation of their baggage. In case the traveler is not provided with the proper passport, or he commits an unlawful act, he shall be delivered for trial to the nearest Consul of Mexico or of a friendly nation previously designated by the Mexican Government. In this case the local authorities can only arrest the traveler without insulting him or permitting any violence to him.
