To the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana: In compliance with Section 30, Act No. 214, Session of the General Assembly of 1902, I have the honor to submit herewith the Biennial Report of the State Superintendent of Public Education for the years 1902 and 1903, showing the condition and progress of the public schools, the receipts and disbursements of the school funds, State, parish and corporate, during that period, with such other statements, facts and statistics as are deemed of interest to the public school system of the State. All the facts necessary to be known with regard to the operation of the public schools for the year 1902 are contained in the following report issued by this department at the end of that year, which is herewith presented. REPORT OF 1902. GENERAL STATISTICS. The total number of white children enrolled in the year 1901, was, as previously reported, 125,272, or 63 per cent of the total number enrolled. |
