it was amazing

Wow! From the very first page, this book is all-consuming and absolutely riveting! I could not put this book down, it was so good. McCullough's story-telling and narrative ability are superb, and it is no wonder this book won a Pulitzer Prize. Although we all learned in school the general events of 1776 (the signing of the Declaration, Washington crossing the Delaware, etc), McCullough brings the events of the year to life so skillfully and in a manner certainly rare among authors. If I wasn't before, I can certainly say now that I am a McCullough fan and will read more of his books. "1776" is definitely a winner!
