I was looking for the real story of the start of the American Revolution after watching "Sons of Liberty" and "Turn" on dvd. So I turned to the well- respected David McCullough. I was not disappointed. He was able to write about the battles we read about in high school and make you feel as if you were there and didn't know how it would all work out. The use of excerpts from diaries and letters of everyday people gave voice to those whose stories are not often told. And best of all, I feel like I got to know the real George Washington with his vaults as well as his virtues.
