Another McCullough triumph. As the title belies, this book basically covers one year of George Washington's life and encompasses a number of other major players including King George III and his commanding General William How as well as many without whose assistance Washington and the fledgling colonies would likely not have survived. The book focuses almost exclusively on Washington and his Army and challenges of the war rather than the related political workings that drove the move to independence. If this period interests you as it does me, this is a very good read.
