Not exactly the book I though it to be. 1776 gives a detailed account of what the War for Independence was like that year. How close we came to failure. The brilliant, daring, and sometimes reckless maneuvers that kept the Cause alive. The powers granted to Washington by the Continental Congress and the faith they had in him. As stated in a previous review, American Education is going refusing to teach the importance of History. This book takes the time to teach you what the system won't. Very much worth the read.
