Took me a while to get into it. I thought it was going to be more of a novel. But it quickly turned into a history book. A bit too text booky for me, not a summer read. But if you are interested in American Revolution history, it's a great book. McCullough drew much, if not all, his inspiration for text from personal accounts of all people involved, including the British and Hessians. And if you are interested in the battles in and around York City (Manhattan), New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia, this book is great for it.
