This was a pretty good book, but kind of different than I expected. I had recently finished a non-fiction book about North Korea, and was emboldened to read another non-fiction book -- this one.
This is a down and dirty documentary book, complete with many quotations from letters, discourses, and other quotable sources. This naturally makes it less story like. Next, the title of this book is not "History of the revolutionary war", it is "1776". Given such, this book covers the events of 1776 and not much more. This should have been obvious from the title, but I figured it would have been about the revolutionary war from start to finish. Not so. Finally, I was surprised by how much this book focused on George Washington. Again, this shouldn't have been a surprise since he was the commander in chief for the war.
Over this was a good book about the events relating to the revolutionary war that occurred in the year 1776.
