This was an amazing and riveting book! It gave me a new insight in the human-ness (and failings) of Gen. George Washington. He is so revered as winning the war of Independence and as our first president, that I liked seeing a more vulnerable side to him, and his decision-making process. I could see the Lord's hand in some significant victories, despite the mistakes made by Washington and our troops. And, having lived in Manhattan for many years, I got a kick out of reading the names of towns and cities that are still in existence over 200 years later. Now I know where the Gowanus Parkway name comes from! haha!
