I like it. I'm sad to say it showed my ignorance. 1776, was just the first year of a the war and it went on until 1783, which is why I read Ray Raphael's "A People's History of the Revolutionary War" for a different perspective. I sure got one. I would recommend A People's History over 1776 any day. McCullough won the Pullitzer, I sure hope it was for 1776. A People's History is definitely Pullitzer worthy, but we know they will never win for any thing like that.
