did not like it

My bookclub chose this last year and I could NOT get "into" it! I kept waiting for a plot or something. I think I was expecting it to be more like a historical fiction than a history lesson. I only made it a chapter or two before admitting defeat.

Denise Smith I'm right there with you! I don't understand why this book was so popular. It's like McCullough went out of his way to make it as boring as he possibly could, and this is not a boring time in American history!!!
