For the next 12-13 months I'm planning to watch biographies of all the American presidents and combine that with 12 U.S. history books roughly corresponding with the presidents I'm currently learning about. I've been wanting to read a David McCullough book for a long time. I chose this one because it's a nice start to this year and it's not a presidential bio. Of course maybe I should've chosen his Truman or Adams bio because it was hard to get into this book at times. When it delved into specific battles of the Revolution I started to zone out. That's simply indicative of my own preferences not McCullough's talents. It was a pleasure to hear his pleasing prose and enjoy his wealth of knowledge. I did the audiobook version and he narrated it himself. He is an equally compelling narrator as he is a writer.
