The last 100 pages went WAY faster than the first 200, which is good. I might not have finished it otherwise.
Great information. Great story telling. DENSE non-fiction, though. Maybe it was a problem with the way I was reading it? I dunno. Everyone else loved this book, and I was ready to throw it across the room for about 50 pages.
Still, it's a good telling of an incredible year in American history. I didn't know much about the Revolutionary War before this book, and I feel like the main two things I learned are 1 - we should have lost the war about 800 times. (Come on, England, can't you finish?!) And 2 - Washington was a great man.
The end.

"McCullough writes DENSE non-fiction. It's a good book, but I'm not sure I'm really impressed with it. I've seen n on-fiction done better."

"Ah! Only 40 pages left! It's going faster now. I've also stopped reading it as in depth as I normally do. It's a good arrangement."
