I read this while on a colonial America-kick, having some interest in the politics of the time. The book, though, was focused primarily on the military events which occurred in 1776, which was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, the style of the book was absorbing, being a narrative built from the journal entries of the combatants, and I was certainly made to think about aspects of warfare which I hadn't previously considered.
