I really tried to get into this book, but just couldn't do it. I didn't even finish it. It came highly recommended to me and so I selected it as my book club pick. I have a deep feeling of love and patriotism for my country and was excited to read it. I just didn't care for the way it was written. It jumped around a lot and I never really felt like there was a plot line to follow and so I didn't really feel a connection with any of the characters in the book. Just a lot of facts. Almost like reading a text book. I think most of the women in my book club felt the same way. To be honest only one person in the club actually finished it. I found it interesting that almost every man I talked to that has read it absolutely loved it and thought it was an excellent book. I guess our minds are just different. Thank goodness! Seriously, I'm sure there is probably a lot of good in the book. It just wasn't for me.
